Chapter overview

Stock and inventory

Note: the DevyPOS interface is currently available in German and English. Screen labels quoted here are the English ones.

With stock tracking, every sale books stock out and every void books it back in. In retail it is included. It is maintained in two places: on the item and in stock management.

1. Settings on the item

In the back office, item maintenance is called Products in retail and Services & products for service businesses. On the item you will find:

2. Stock management

Under Stock the back office shows all items with stock tracking in the columns Item, Stock, Warning and sold today. If the stock is at or below the warning level, the row is red. The tick box Reorder list only hides everything else.

3. Restocking and stock counts

ButtonWhat for
Restock …Book in a delivery: you enter the number of units being added.
Count …Enter the counted stock; DevyPOS books the difference.

Clicking the item name opens the History with the last 50 movements: sale, void, restock or count, each with note and staff member.

4. How the stock level comes about

The stock is the sum of all movements. Nothing is overwritten, so every level can be traced.

A sale is never blocked because of the stock – so the stock can fall below zero. A restock or a count puts it right again. Other tills show the new stock as soon as they reload their items.

This chapter describes DevyPOS in its current version. Individual views may differ in your business because features are enabled per venue.
